The City of Salisbury

Salisbury CathedralSalisbury, with its history and heritage, is an unbeatable destination for your short break or just a visit for the day. With everything from cosmopolitan cafes to traditional country inns, specialist independent shops and major high street names.

The Cathedral with the tallest spire, and oldest working clock in Europe, plus the world's best-preserved Magna Carta, is a must to visit during your stay, and in The Close you will find beautiful gardens, award winning museums and lovely tea rooms to stop awhile. Whatever time of the year you decide to visit us there is an abundance of things to see and do.

Salisbury is the meeting place of five rivers (Avon, Bourne, Ebble, Nadder and Wylye) and thus a source to its glorious water-meadows. There are plenty of footpaths, with some routes running alongside the rivers, and cycleways which take in some of the country's most fantastic scenery. There are maps which can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre which will help with your plans. So much on the doorstep of our home for you to enjoy. A warm welcome awaits you.
